Due to the pandemic we are running a clinical triage system, therefore instead of making an appointment with the doctor you will be first offered a telephone consultation, following a telephone consultation the clinician may arrange a face to face appointment with you.
When requesting a telephone consultation the Receptionist will ask you for an indication of the reason for the request, this is to ensure that you are given a consultation with the most appropriate person, you do not have to give this information, it is purely to give you an appointment that will be of most benefit to you.
We are a Training practice so GP Registrars will be working with our team from time to time. Relevant information will be displayed on our waiting room screen as appropriate.

Cancellations - If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. If a patient repeatedly fails to attend for appointments they may be removed from the practice list and asked to find an alternative practice. To cancel your appointment please telephone 01522 876800, we have a new cancellation line to make this process faster for patients.

All you need to use this service, a pin number which you will need to set up at the desk or over the phone. When using this service you will need the pin number, your contact telephone number and your date of birth.
This service is available even when we are closed, so you can use it at virtually any time of the day or night, including at weekends

It is now possible to book appointments online. Please ask reception staff to register you for ‘SystmOnline’ and they will give you your specific login details and an explanation of how to use the system.
Portland Medical Practice is pleased to be able to offer our patients access to routine appointments at evenings and weekends - CURRENTLY ON HOLD DUE TO THE PANDEMIC
The new service is part of an extended access service which has been commissioned by NHS Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group.
The appointments will also be available on bank holidays and across the Easter, Christmas and New Year periods
Extended hours appointments are for pre-bookable non-urgent appointments. Examples of these include chronic illness, asthma checks and medicines reviews,
The service is being delivered by a federation of GP practices in the area. If a patient wishes to attend an extended hours appointment, they may need to travel to another local GP practice or a central GP practice hub and may not necessarily see their own GP.
In our locality, appointments are available between 6.30pm and 8pm Monday to Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday mornings. There are also a number of additional appointments being made available during core hours (8.00am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday).
